It is a word I invented for what are more commonly know as Vivariums, Terrariums, and Paludariums. They are naturalistic environments that are designed to mimic a certain type of habitat to facilitate the keeping of animals and plants. They can be completely automated and almost self sustaining with lush plant grow and activity from animals. They can have automatic misters, fans, foggers, climate control, lights and more.
The price is different for each one as they are individually custom built according to the client’s taste, budget, and lifestyle. The vases range from $50 to $300 for and the bigger enclosures range from $500 to $5000.
Yes. I often have mature systems ready for rent or lease. Prices will depend on the enclosure, duration and additional services.
Currently financing options are not available but will be in future.
I accept Cash, Email Money Transfer, Certified Cheque, VISA, Mastercard and Paypal.
Ecouariums are designed with functionality and aesthetics and minimal maintenance being the primary objectives. The amount of maintenance required will depend on the level of automation installed in the system but even without any automation a system like the one in the main picture requires less than ten (10) minutes of per week.
Well the possibilities are endless especially for the vases as they are small and can be place anywhere as long as the type of plants used are appropriate for the conditions. Some examples of where my work has ended up are:
- Senior homes.
I’ve been told that my work has a very positive and calming effect for the elderly folks and I’ve also done workshops that were a lot of fun.
- Show homes.
Ecouariums give showrooms an extra “je ne ce quoi’ but clients remember them.
A real conversation piece in hotel lobbies !!
- Government buildings
Workers there have told me that staring at my tanks is their stress relief for the day.
- Lobby or reception areas
A good chunk of my business goes there and I really enjoy seeing how happy my pieces make those ladies.
- Private homes
Most of my clients from private home are now full blow plant addicts ! Awesome !!
Every airport should have one and eventually wii once they see the effect they have on the poor travellers who seem to breathe a sigh of relief when they look at them.
